Time to get Caught UP!

Apparently I am not very good at this blogging business because I never blog (as you can see). But I have a LOT of catching up to do- so here comes the sweetened condensed version... I will just hit some (all dance, surprise) highlights and then get to the good stuff ;)

Last time I wrote, I talked about my letter from the U, right? Well the semester is over next week, which includes practicum, or the exam :s It has been a really good experience dancing with college girls and learning from some great dance professors.

I probably improved the most with Mischa, my Russian instructor. He was tough, but I noticed a difference within my dancing in the first couple of days! It has been stressful and hectic no doubt, but it has taught me to grow a thicker skin and some new methods of ballet.

I competed in YAGP (a student ballet competition) and placed 3rd in contemporary, and top twelve in classical. It was an awesome experience, and was amazing to perform in front of such a responsive audience. I met some great girls and saw dancing that blew me away!

SAB is in 63 days!!!!!!!! My dream of dancing in New York at Lincoln Center came true in the form of an email granting acceptance (and full tuition scholarship ;]). If there is any one thing I could ask for in the world right now, it would be to stay there for the Winter Term.

For the recital (Wizard of Oz) I got the role of Glinda! I am so fortunate to be able to work with Carlo again and to have Attila set the pas, variations and coda. Our rehearsals have usually gone almost three hours every time! I got a ride to the U with Attila after my rehearsal and probably did a little number on my lungs from second hand smoke ;) Yesterday we finished the whole thing! I love Attila and got such a positive feeling from his feedback yesterday.

OKAY! Now that I officially sound conceded, let's get to some more recent business. So, April 7Th was my birthday. I had a blast with sleepovers, family fun and some sweet gifts- like a sweet kite from Elaura. Yes and as you might have guessed, sixteen is the magical age of DATING. Now, I have never been a boy crazy kinda gal but I'm starting to worry a little... kidding.

This weekend I went on two dates! Ha ha. I went to the Seminary Ball with my pal Caz and danced, dined, and got pictures for $25 bucks! Deal, eh? Little did I know, I needed to have more activities planned for after this little baby, so we just ended up trying to find a place to bowl- with no luck- then proceeded to drive and chat.

Last night was definitely fun and well planned. I was picked up at 7:15 by Chase (my date, and old friend) and Logan (my friends older brother) and proceeded to pick up Ciera (my friend and ceramics buddy ;)). We went to Logan's house and met up with Jessie and Collin. The girls waited downstairs and upstairs the boys prepared a fine meal of mixed linguine and angel hair pasta (they ran out of one noodle, and supplemented with the other) and tried to evenly distribute pasta sauce (they ran short on mine, I had a good two tablespoons).

After dinner we grabbed some Cold Stone and went to Draper Park. Chase and I raced each other on the play set, sat on the spiny chairs, and climbed a tree (I have my battle scar of a scraped knee). Remember my birthday kite? BOY did that come in handy! We mastered kite flying and then went home.

Today was a great Sunday and the close of an awful week and a great weekend. I was called and set apart as Laurel secretary and renewed my temple recommend. I received an amazing blessing for my setting apart given by Steve Edwards, first councilor in the bishopric! It was a great weekend and just what I needed to start a new week.

Well until next time, which won't be TOO soon, blog ya later!
